TENNIS fans still have a chance to purchase tickets for the second season of the International Premier Tennis League next month at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Three-day transferrable passes, priced as follows: P58,000 (VIP), P48K (Patron), P26K (Lower Box), P14K (Upper Box), and P3K General Admission), are still for sale, according to Manila leg project lead Clemente Apacible.

“Great seats are still available,” Apacible said on Tuesday in the Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum. “Nothing is better than experiencing it live – six hours of tennis each day. And we have the best venue ever.”

The Philippine Mavericks represent the country and are bannered by women’s world No. 1 Serena Williams, Mark Philippoussis, Richard Gasquet, Jarmila Gajdosova, Borna Coric, Sabine Lisicki, and Filipino-American Treat Huey.

However, the Mavericks, who are vying to dethrone the inaugural champions UAE Royals, will miss Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who has begged off due to personal commitment.

French Open doubles champion Edouard Roger-Vasselin will take the place of the Swiss Tsonga.

"Roger-Vasselin is a great doubles player. We're excited to have him," said Apacible, who appeared in the weekly session along with SM Lifestyle Entertainment advertising manager Stephanie Henares.

Spanish star Rafael Nadal is also expected to draw the crowd as he leads the Indian Aces.

The Manila leg, slated December 6 to 8 and aired live on TV5, is the second leg of the four-city tour kicking off in Japan on December 2. The competition then heads from the Philippines to New Delhi then Dubai before ending in Singapore.
