CHICAGO — It didn’t take long for Prince Carino to impress.

Just days after beginning his basketball journey in the United States, Carino has received an offer to play college ball at the University of Nevada, Reno.

A Division 1 school, the Wolf Pack is coached by the legendary Steve Alford and competes in the powerhouse Mountain West Conference of the US NCAA.

After arriving in Phoenix from Manila last Wednesday, the former FEU Baby Tamaraw and Gilas Pilipinas youth standout immediately buckled down to work.

The next day, the 6-foot-6 wing joined the PHH Prep Fire Frogs in practice before flying to Denver for the AOG Rocky Mountain HS Invitational.

On his official US debut on Saturday, while still dealing with the effects of jet lag, Carino scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

SKY IS THE LIMIT.

After confirming the University of Nevada offer, Tony Ronzone of The Team, the agency formerly known as Wasserman Sports, told me that Carino is in no rush to commit.

But why?

While most hoopers would immediately jump on an NCAA Division 1 offer, Prince’s representation, which also includes the well-connected Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management (EMBM), believes that there is more room for growth.
