AFTER making its WTA debut with the inaugural Philippine Women’s Open last January, the country is set to welcome a WTA 250 event in November 2027, the Philippine Tennis Association (PHILTA) announced Thursday.

The announcement means the Philippines will host two WTA tournaments in 2027, with a WTA 125 scheduled for January before the WTA 250 later in the year.

The inaugural Philippine Women’s Open was held from January 26 to 31, 2026 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila, marking the country’s first WTA tournament.

Now, less than a year after that milestone, Philippine tennis is set for another step up the WTA ladder.

“WTA 250 is coming to the Philippines,” PHILTA announced on its social media channels.
