    Pantino, Martin breeze through to 2nd round

    TOP seed Arthur Pantino breezed through to the second round with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Yuzon Ramos, while No. 4 Jacob Martin won 6-0, 6-2 against Jeremiah Macias in the First Gen-Juntaphil Metro Age Group Tennis Championships on Monday at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

    Nio Tria downed Philip Gadon 7-5, 6-2 and will next face No. 7 Mimo Tomacruz, who booted out Pancho Santos, 6-0, 6-2, in the boys’ 14-and-under division.

    Ramon Bentillo beat Daerio Sujica, 6-3, 6-1; Arni Bannawi defeated Dale Israel, 6-0, 6-1; Miko Eala whipped Jan Enicame, 6-0, 6-1; and Joshua Austria routed Alejandro Lacson, 6-0, 6-0.

    Fifth seed Alfred Doloroso overpowered Jude Hidalgo, 4-0, 4-1, while Juan Carlos Lapore bundled out Elijah Guillermo, 4-2, 4-1, to lead the winners in the 10-unisex class.

    Eurydice Gaspar beat Miguel Castillo, 4-0, 4-2; Rafael Liangco defeated Miguel Matta, 4-1, 4-0; James Cruz downed Joshua Diva, 4-2, 4-0, Noelle So downed Mathieu Banaag, 4-0, 4-1; Minette Bentillo outclassed Adam Sujica, 4-1, 4-0, and Juan Alfonso Lacuna held off Marianne Matta, 4-2, 4-2, in the event of the event presented by First Gen and organized by Junior Tennis Association of the Philippines and sponsored by Smart Communications, Technifibre Balls, Accel, RCBC and Pet One.
