ALEX Eala has had her share of unforced errors. Her fans would know.
But not all of them happen on the court. Like this one time.
“I was hanging out with a friend in the elevator, blurting out random French words,” she said in the Player's Box Podcast. “My voice is pretty high and loud.”

The podcast is hosted by Jess Pegula, Jenny Brady, Des Krawczyk, and Madison Keys, and Eala is the most recent guest.
It was one of those moments that felt private enough to be harmless, until it wasn’t.
“When I turned around, it was Madison.”
There was no rewinding it, no pretending it didn’t happen. The world No. 18 heard it all.
So she owned it.
“I told her, 'Now I have an ‘unforced error’ for the pod,'” Eala said.

Unforced error is the icebreaker of the pod where the hosts talk about their funny, embarrassing moment for the week or so.
The joke stuck.
“So now whenever I see Madi, I say bonjour.”
It’s the kind of story that lives somewhere between awkward and funny, the kind you don’t plan but end up keeping anyway.
And it just proves that besides the plays, the Filipina world No. 45, now bumps elbows with the world's biggest names in the sport, and they have an inside joke.
