Christine Patrimonio stars as NU Lady Bulldogs down La Salle to stay unbeaten in UAAP women's tennis
Christine Patrimonio and the Lady Bulldogs are one step away from a first-round sweep.

CHRISTINE Patrimonio came up with a big straight-sets win as National University stretched its streak to three with a 4-1 victory over La Salle on Tuesday in the UAAP Season 78 women’s tennis tournament at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

The three-peat seeking Lady Bulldogs took the top spot at 3-0.

Christine beat Janina Luis, 6-1, 6-0, in singles play as her sister Clarice suffered a 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 loss to La Salle’s Marinel Rudas for the Lady Bulldogs’ lone defeat of the tie.

Jzah Canja won over Ana Karmina Atangan, 6-3, 6-1, in the other singles match for NU, which swept the doubles events.

Hannah Espinosa and Junnelyn Polito beat Nikki Arandia and Anne Rene Castillo, 6-0, 6-4, while Zaza Paulino and Goldie Nagret won over Jed Aquino and Khyshana Hitosis, 6-2, 6-2.

NU wraps up the first round on Saturday against University of Sto. Tomas, which is also undefeated.
