ALVIN Patrimonio may be a four-time PBA MVP, yet he still finds tennis-playing daughters Christine and Clarice a source of inspiration following their latest conquest for National University in the UAAP Season 78 women’s tennis tournament.

The basketball great was in the stands of the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center over the weekend when Christine and Clarice led the Bulldogs to the win over University of Santo Tomas for a sweep of the women’s title.

Patrimonio’s daughters are having a stellar career at the moment as Christine was named MVP of the UAAP tennis meet for Season 78, a year after Clarice won the same award.

Patrimonio, currently the Star Hotshots team manager, is no doubt impressed by his daughters, who he said always play their hearts out despite already accomplishing so much in their careers.

“Siyempre blessed to have daughters who play with their hearts out. Binubuhos nila in every game for NU,” said Alvin in a brief chat with Spin.ph moments after NU formally won the UAAP crown.

“Nakaka-inspire kasi hindi sila nag-gi-give up. Talagang all out,” said the elder Patrimonio.

The legendary cage player had watched her daughters play before in other tournaments, but stressed the UAAP has an atmosphere unique to his experience in basketball.

“Nandito sila Boss Hans Sy (school owner) and NU management, yung mga cheerers, students, parents. It’s a great experience,” said Patrimonio. (With a report from Jaime Campos)
