Rafa Nadal makes his Manila IPTL debut in the Indian Aces' match against the UAE Royals.

LOCAL fans get their first glimpse of Rafael Nadal even as the Philippine Mavericks seek to tighten their grip of the top spot in Day Two of the Manila leg of the International Premier Tennis League on Monday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Fresh from a 28-19 win over the UAE Royals on Sunday, the pacesetting Mavericks face the Japan Warriors, who are on the opposite end of the five-team standings.

The matches begin at 7:30 p.m. with the Mavericks, toting an 81-68 win-loss slate, seeking a repeat of their 28-24 victory over the Warriors in their home turf in Japan.

The Warriors have lost all their four matches so far.

The spotlight, though, will be on Nadal, the former world No. 1 netter who banners the Indian Aces, running third at 52-46, in their 4:30 p.m. match against the UAE Royals.
