Francis Casey Alcantara, China's Fajing Sun win doubles title in Yinchuan ITF event

FRANCIS Casey Alcantara of the Philippines and Fajing Sun of China captured the men’s doubles title in the China F8 Futures International Tennis Federation tournament in Yinchuan, China.

The top-seed Alcantara and Sun beat fourth-ranked Kento Takeuhci of Japan and Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul of Thailand, 6-4, 2-6, 10-5, on Saturday.

It was Alcantara’s his second doubles title this year, first in a US$25,000 tournament (around P1.3 million).

Alcantara also won the Singapore F2 Futures doubles title last month with Collin Altamirano of the US. They beat Shintaro Imai and Takuto NIki of Japan in the championship, 6-1, 6-4.

Alcantara and Sun reached the finals of the China F7 Futures in Luzhou last week but lost to Rhett Purcell of New Zealand and Sami Reinwein of Germany, 7-5, 6-3.

In May, Alcantara and Sun also had semifinal finishes in the China F5 and China F6 Futures tournaments.
