AFTER taking out the top seed, the show goes on for the Philippine Women’s Open’s dark horse Tatiana Prozorova.
The 22-year-old Russian ranked No. 174 by the WTA booked a ticket to the semifinals after defeating world No. 143 Sofia Costoulas of Belgium, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Thursday night at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Stadium.
Vekic through to Final Four
She will next face fourth-seeded Croatian Donna Vekic, ho dispatched Lin Zhu of China, 6-4, 6-3, in their own quarterfinal in the first-ever WTA tournament to be hosted by the country.
Earlier in the tournament, Prozorova ousted top seed Tatjana Maria, 7-6(2), 6-4, in the round of 16. She is the lowest-ranked player to reach this far, with four of the eight seeded players already eliminated.

The winners of the matches between Alex Eala and Camila Osorio, and Lanlana Tararudee and Solana Sierra, will complete the semifinal cast.
