AFTER finally breaking through for her maiden WTA Tour title, Alex Eala is wasting no time getting back to work as she opens her National Bank Open campaign against a familiar foe with unfinished business.
Fresh off a flawless run to the WTA 500 Mubadala DC Open crown, the world No. 20 Filipina begins her second stop of the North American hard-court swing on Thursday morning (Manila time), taking on American Alycia Parks, No. 71, in the second round of the WTA 1000 event in Toronto.

The meeting will be a rematch of their Australian Open first-round encounter in January, where Parks rallied from a set down to hand Eala a 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 defeat, their lone previous meeting.
Seeded 25th in the tournament, Eala received a first-round bye, while Parks booked the showdown after dispatching Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva in straight sets.
Their match is scheduled for Thursday, not before 8:10 a.m. (Manila time).
