Eala sibilings make country proud with victories in Florida tournament

LOCAL tennis prodigies Alex and Miko Eala recently brought glory to Philippine tennis as the siblings finished with top honors in the “Little Mo” Grand Slam in West Palm Beach in Miami, USA.

Eight-year-old Alex received the six-foot high Kids’ World Tennis Trophy of the Century by capturing the Grand Slam title for the girls’ 8-and-under category.

Meanwhile, 10-year-old Miko Eala emerged as runner-up in the boys’ 11-and-under bracket and was accorded the Sportsmanship Award for the entire tournament.

Supported by Globe Telecom, the Eala siblings emerged victorious from among 400 top young tennis players around the world.

The elder Eala is set to compete in the Orange Bowl also in Miami for the 12-and-under grouping.
