FOLLOWING an early exit in her clay season opener, Alex Eala is heading straight into one of the tour’s most prestigious stops, joining a stacked field at the WTA 500 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Germany.
The 20-year-old Filipina secured a direct main draw entry as a late replacement for Zheng Qinwen, who withdrew due to injury, giving Eala an immediate shot at redemption after her second-round exit at the Linz Open.

“Alexandra Eala replaces Qinwen Zheng in the main draw of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix! Unfortunately, Qinwen has to withdraw due to injury, but fans can now look forward to seeing Eala step in,” tournament organizers announced Thursday.
Awaiting her is an elite cast led by world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, alongside reigning clay queen Iga Swiatek and American star Coco Gauff.
Also in the mix are top contenders like Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, Mirra Andreeva, and Elina Svitolina.
Clay continuation
Set from April 13 to 19, the tournament marks Eala’s second clay appearance and 10th event of her 2026 campaign, a crucial stretch as she looks to build rhythm on the surface against the very best with the French Open looming in late May.

Adding to the spectacle, the Stuttgart champion does not just lift a trophy, they drive away with one.
The winner of the tournament actually takes home a brand-new Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, this year in a striking tennis ball yellow finish.
Final draws are expected to be released in the coming days, following the completion of qualifying rounds.
