The French Open men’s singles final between World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and No. 2 Rafael Nadal will resume at 1 p.m. Monday at Roland Garros in Paris (7 p.m. in Manila) after being rained out Sunday night.
Spain’s six-time French Open champion Nadal was ahead 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 1-2 when rain forced the postponement.
The match had earlier been delayed 35 minutes with Nadal ahead 5-3 in the second set.
The Spanish left-hander quickly finished the set upon resumption but the Serb then caught fire, winning eight consecutive games to take the third set and a 2-0 lead in the fourth.
Nadal just halted Djokovic’s run when play was stopped because of the downpour.
