Top seed Johnny rolled past Rollie Anasta, 6-1, 6-1, while Joseph matched on when Kim Saraza retired with the score at 6-1, 3-0.
No. 3 Patrick Tierro scored a walkover win over Calvin Canlas, fourth ranked Rolando Ruel Jr. trounced Arjohn Dela Cruz, 6-1, 6-3; fifth seed Alexander Lazaro downed Chat Conta, 6-3, 6-0; No. 6 Roel Capangpangan overpowered Romel Openiano, 6-4, 6-1; and seventh ranked Ronard Joven downed Radharani Reyes, 6-1, 6-2, in tournament presented by Palawan Pawnshop and organized by the Brookside Hills Tennis Club in cooperation with the local government units of Cainta and backed by Babolat.
The opening matches of the ladies singles tournament pit top seed Marinel Rudas against Hanna Grace Espinosa, No. 2 Clarice Patrimonio opposite Ma. Dominique Ong, third ranked Marian Capadocia versus April Santos, and No. 4 Alyssa Labay against Jella Capadocia.
