ALEX Eala as she is set to face another higher-seeded player in world No. 42 Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine as she bids for a place in the semifinals of the WTA 250 Eastbourne Open in Great Britain.
The 20-year old qualifier, a week away from her Wimbledon debut, is coming off a walkover win against fourth seed Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia on Wednesday night after the Latvian retired in the third set while trailing, 0-6, 6-2, 3-2.

Eala now needs one more win over Yastremska, a 25-year old Ukrainian with three WTA singles titles under her belt, to match her career-best semifinal appearance at the WTA 1000 Miami Open last March.
Yastremska in in a run of good form as well, having taken out fifth seed Magda Linette in straight sets, 6-4, 4-2, in her opening match.
However, Eala is no longer new to beating higher seeds.
In this tournament alone, the world No. 74 counts among her five victims since the qualifiers higher-seeded players in world No. 61 Lucia Bronzetti, 6-0, 6-1, Hailey Baptiste of the US (No. 56) and world No. 20 Ostapenko.
