ALEX EALA just recently achieved one of the biggest wins in her career as the Filipina tennis sensation defeated world #25 Latvian tennis pro Jelena Ostapenko in the Miami Open, edging her opponent 7-6, 7-5. Eala is currently ranked 140th and is considered to be a tournament wild card.
The 19-year-old became the first WTA player from the Philippines to topple a top 30 player. After her momentous victory, she was seen embracing her racket, clutching it tightly to her chest with tears flowing from her eyes.
She was even praised by tennis legend Rafa Nadal.
Eala's victory will propel her to the round of 32 where she will face American Madison Keys, who is currently ranked 5th in the world.
