Eala chases first WTA title
The 19-year-old needed only an hour and 23 minutes to dispatch her fellow youngster and move closer to her maiden title on the WTA Tour.
Eala is coming off a string of opening-round losses but is now poised for a deeper run in one of the warm-up events for Wimbledon.
The Filipina teen next faces either former Top 5 player Sara Errani or Ukraine’s Katarina Zavatska in the quarterfinals.
Errani, a former French Open finalist, is seeded 4th.
