ALEX Eala is expected to make a deep run at the W75 Croissy-Beauborg doubles tournament as she and French partner Estelle Cascino reached the semifinals on Thursday.
Eala moved two wins away from her second professional doubles after she and Cascino stunned No. 2 seed Emily Appleton and Isabelle Haverlag in the quarterfinals, 6-4, 6-0.
They are slated to meet Kira Pavlova and Marie Weckerie in a semifinal slated Friday.
They needed just 57 minutes to dispatch the second seeds as they blanked the duo in the 2nd set.
It was a different story in the first set, where Eala and Cascino needed to avert a late set meltdown as they were chased from a 4-1 lead to a 4-4 deadlock.
Still, they held serve in Game 9 to regain the advantage and broke Appleton and Haverlag’s serve in the next game to take the victory.
