The 15-year-old Filipina overcame a tough challenge from the 18-year-old Spanish netter, posting a 6-1,4-6, 6-1 victory on Court 10 at Stade Roland Garros.
The Globe ambassador will next face Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic, who sailed past Flavie Brugnone of France, 6-1, 6-1.
After a 6-4, 6-1 win over Natalia Szabanin of Hungary in the opening round, Eala defeated Mara Guth, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4.
