FRESH from her first French Open appearance, Alex Eala is set to play her first grass-court match of the season at the WTA 125 Lexus Birmingham Open in Great Britain.

Eala will face a familiar opponent in Czech Linda Fruhvirtova, who is ranked No. 152 in the WTA rankings.
Although this is their first meeting at the professional level, the two 20-year-olds have already clashed twice in junior competition, with a 1-1 head-to-head record.
Eala defeated Fruhvirtova at the 2019 ITF Cape Town tournament in South Africa, while the Czech got even with a win at the J1 Roehampton event in July 2021.
They are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, Manila time, with the exact time yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, Eala is also set to compete in doubles alongside Swiss partner Rebeka Masarova.
They will face the seeded Australian duo of Ellen Perez and Storm Hunter in their opener, scheduled for Monday night at 8:20 PM.
The tournament will run from June 2nd to 8th, 2025.
