After two sets lasting two hours and 56 minutes that both went into tiebreak, play in the round-of-16 match was suspended in the third with Eala leading 3-2 and Lepchenko, WTA no. 122, serving in the sixth game.
The match, now standing at 6(3)-7(7), 7(7)-6(3), 3-2, will resume with the third set going according to serve. The time and date has yet to be released.

After trading blows in a grueling first set that saw the 20-year-old Filipina race to a 3-0 lead, Lepchenko clawed her way back and push the set into a tiebreak which she won, 9-7, after nearly 80 minutes of play.
The second set followed a similar script, with neither giving an inch as games went back and forth. Eala forced another tiebreak and this time turned the tables, edging it 7-6(3) to level the match after two and a half hours.
