On her third stop in North America, the world No. 20 and Cincinnati Open’s 17th seed advanced to the third round by defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse, 6-1, 3-0 ret.

The 21-year old Filipina faces a tougher test in the round of 32 as she takes on world No 10 Amanda Anisimova, who got as high as No. 3 in the world in a career that has produced four WTA titles so far.
It will be the first meeting between the two, but Eala can draw confidence form her 8-4 (win-loss) against the players in the world Top 10.
Anisimova defeated Zeynep Sonmez in the round of 64, 6-2, 6-3.

Like Eala, before Ohio, the American's run in Toronto ended in the round of 16 after losing to Elina Svitolina, whomEala had defeated twice this year in Berlin and Washington.
Eala and Anisimova will face off on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. (Manila time)
Eala is chasing her first Masters-level (WTA 1000) title after winning her maiden WTA 500 at the DC Open.
