AIMING to make her mark on grass courts, Alex Eala is heading to another WTA 125 tournament in Great Britain, where she will serve as the top seed.
Following an early exit in both singles and doubles at the Birmingham Open last week, the Filipina currently ranked world No. 73, has committed to play at the Lexus Ilkley Open, scheduled for June 9 to 15.

As the highest-ranked player in the field, Eala will begin her campaign in the Round of 32 against an opponent emerging from the ongoing qualifying rounds.
Swiss player Viktorija Golubic, the world No. 78, and Ukraine’s Yulia Starodubtseva, world No. 81, have been seeded second and third, respectively.
The final draw and schedule of play are expected to be released in the coming days.
The Ilkley event marks Eala’s second grass-court tournament of the 2025 season as she continues her bid to sharpen her game heading to Wimbledon.
