AFTER a promising semifinal run at the French Open Girls Singles tournament, Alex Eala rose to World No. 2 in the International Tennis Federation World Juniors rankings.
From ranked fourth, the 15-year-old Filipina elevated two places and surpassed three players including former World No. 1 Victoria Kasintseva of Andorra, former World Nos. 2 & 3, Diane Parry of France, and Ukraine's Daria Snigur.
Elsa Jacquemot, Eala's semifinal tormentor who eventually bagged the Grand Slam title, was named the new World No. 1.

She garnered a total of 430 points from her French Open stint which increased her points from 1718.75 to 2148.75.
Eala is only behind Jacquemot by 112.5 points in her rise from sixth place.
