GRASS courts are slowly becoming Alex Eala’s playground as she notched a convincing victory in Round of 32 at the Veneto Open in Italy on Tuesday.
Eala, 19, drubbed French hitter Carole Monet in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, in her opening game of the Wimbledon warm-up event.
This was only her second victory on grass after taking her first win on the surface in her previous tournament.
Eala takes on home bet
She faces home bet Georgia Pedone next in the Round of 16 on Thursday.
The Filipina tennis ace pounced on Monet's unsteady service as the 22-year-old committed a whopping 10 double faults in the two-set match.
It resulted in Eala converting on seven of 10 break points in the match.
On social media, Eala expressed joy in taking another win on the grass.
“Feeling good on grass.” wrote Eala.
