Donnie Geisler files complaint against PTA for 'abusive practices'

Olympian accuses taekwondo association of 'harassment and abuses'
    Jun 25, 2020

DONNIE Geisler filed a complaint against the Philippine Taekwondo Association before the Philippine Competition Commission on Wednesday, accusing the PTA of 'abuses and harassment.'

“I finally decided to take action and fight for my rights and to be vindicated with all the abuses and harassments committed not only against me but also my students,” said the 2000 Olympian in a statement.

“It took me years to realize that the people whom I treated like family never treated me the same way. As I said it’s high time that I should stand my ground and protect my rights against abusive practices. If I will not do it no one else will,” he added.

Geisler filed the complaint just days after blasting the PTA on social media for allegedly reprimanding two national team members who participated in a Zoom conference that the former organized for his students.

Geisler took exception to PTA’s decision to sanction Samuel Morrison and Arven Alcantara after the two national team members served as speakers in Geisler’s online Zoom webinar.

Morrison and Alcantara submitted a courtesy resignation from the national team but the PTA declined and forgave the two for violating its protocols.

The PTA has yet to issue a statement on the issue.
