THE selection of the Philippine table tennis team to the 32nd Southeast Asian Games goes into high gear in Puerto Princesa City from February 22 to 26 at the Puerto Princesa Sports Complex.
The Philippine Table Tennis Federation Inc. (PTTF) expects 80 participants to vie for slots in the men’s and women’s team that will be sent to Cambodia for the SEA Games slated May 5 to 17.

The matches in the national selection will be shown on live stream.
“Puerto Princesa will witness something special,” said PTTF secretary general Pong Ducanes. “‘Yung mga pinakamagaling nating mga manlalaro sa buong bansa ay magbabakbakan para sa slot na makalaro sa 2023 Cambodia SEA Games.”
PTTF president Ting Ledesma said there are plans to hold an international tournament in Puerto Princesa after the national selection.
“We plan to do more projects here in the future, and, hopefully, organize an international event here late his year,” said Ledesma.
“The best players from all over the country will battle it out in Puerto Princesa to determine who will represent the country in the 2023 Southeast Asian Games. Nagpapasalamat kami sa mga taga-Puerto Princesa lalo na kay Mayor Bayron for their support. We are planning on making Puerto Princesa the center of table tennis in the country,” Ledesma added.
