Jarod Hatch resets own PH record in 100-meter butterfly in California

JAROD Hatch set a new Philippine record in the men’s 100-meter butterfly, according to the Philippine Swimming League.

Hatch clocked 53.06 seconds in the 2021 Speedo Summer Championships – West in Irvine, California on Thursday, breaking his own record of 53.91 seconds he set in the 2019 Phillips 66 National Championships in Stanford, California.

A member of the Philippine team, Hatch, 23, won a silver medal along with Tokyo Olympian Luke Gebbie, Sacho Ilustre, and Jean-Pierre Khouzam in the 4x100-meter freestyle in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

He is also competing for the University of California in the NCAA Division 1, where he scored 28 points in three events on his way to helping the Bears win the Pac-12 conference crown for the fourth consecutive time.
