After a phenomenal rookie year, Ateneo's Kiefer Ravena continues to live up to the lofty standards he has set for himself.

Last Saturday was no different.

Bucking leg cramps, Ravena poured in 12 of his 18 points in the second half to power the Blue Eagles to a hard-earned 68-66 victory over the University of Santo Tomas Tigers and a guaranteed twice-to-beat berth in the Final Four.

“I told coach don't take me out, it's do-or-die because we really want to win to avoid all the complications,” said the 18-year-old, named the UAAP Press Corps Player of the Week.

Ravena, who also had six rebounds and four assists, highlighted his performance with a vicious slam dunk over UST center Karim Abdul.

The league's Rookie of the Year last season also provided the spark in the Blue Eagles' 70-56 rout of National University on Thursday, firing 14 points and dishing out five assists.

“All the other teams are gearing up for the final stretch of the season and that's also what we want to do,” said Ravena, who hopes to help the Blue Eagle snare a fifth straight championship.

“We have to be ready physically and mentally for the Final Four.”
