TEAM Manila–Philippines shrugged off an early surge by a talented San Jacinto Mayhem, scoring a 12-2 win to top pool play in the 2018 PONY World Series 18-U Girls Softball Championships at the Diamond Valley Park inside the Valley-Wide Recreation District in Hemet, California.

The Valley Mayhem scored twice early against Manila hurler Glory Alonzo but the 17-year old Alonzo kept her composure as the Philippines took control.

Head coach Anna Santiago sent Cleofe Magsayo to the mound in the third and she delivered another fine performance with four strikeouts, in three scoreless innings.
