MANILA failed in its defense of the Big League Softball World Series when it bowed to United States Central, 4-6, on Thursday (Friday Manila time), bombing out of title contention in Delaware.
The Manila softbelles, champions of 2012 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, suffered their third setback in four outings in Pool B, this time against representatives from South Bend, Indiana.
Manila was coming off a 0-1 loss to host Delaware.
They won over Canada, 15-0, in the opening match but lost, 10-5, loss to United States East.
Manila wraps up its campaign against United States West.
