THE Philippine Junior Blu Girls split their final matches, repeating over Dominican Republic, 2-0, before bowing to Mexico, 3-5, again to finish 10th in a field of 16 in the 2017 WBSC Junior Women’s Softball World Championship in Clearwater, Florida.
The Jr Blu Girls shut out the Dominicans behind Sierra Lange, who allowed only three hits.
The Filipinas, however, bowed to Mexico in their last match of the tournament.

The Junior Blu Girls actually enjoyed a 2-0 margin after the first inning before Mexico equalized with a run each in the second and sixth.
The Mexicans took the driver's seat in the top of the eighth, 3-2, but the Filipinas drew level to force the ninth frame.
Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines president Jean Henri Lhuillier said the Junior Blu Girls did “an excellent job.”
“Our players delivered and I know that, with the experience they gained from this competition, they will do even better in future matches,” he said.
