A TWO-run sixth inning gave the Philippines a 5-4 win over Netherlands in the Women’s World Softball Championship in Chiba, Japan on Sunday.
The win atoned for the Philippines’ two consecutive losses on Saturday to Mexico (2-0) and Puerto Rico (3-0).
Cristy Joy Roa and Cheska Altomonte belted run-scoring singles for the Blu Girls on their way to victory as Siera Lange earned a win with an imprssive four and two-thirds innings, yielding no runs on three hits.
The Philippines now occupy fourth place with 2-2, in a tie with Chinese Taipei in Group A.
The Blu Girls face United States on Monday.
