Cristy Roa shows way as UST clobbers Rizal in softball tournament at Clark

DEFENDING champion UST clobbered Rizal, 13-0, on Thursday in the women’s club A division of  the ongoing 9th Summer Grand Slam softball tournament at the parade ground in Clark Freeport.

Cristy Joy Roa showed the way as UST needed just four innings to dispose of Rizal.

The Philippine Blu Boys and powerhouse Air Force are seeing action in the men’s side.

The Open division champions will receive P30,000, the runners-up  P20,000 and the third placers P10,000. The club division champion gets P15,000, the second placer P10,000 and third placer P5,000.

“The stronger teams are now stamping their class but it’s good to see a few surprises. I’m also confident that we’ll be able to discover new world-class talents at the end of the tournament,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, president of the Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines.
