Adamson scores five-inning rout of La Salle to complete first-round sweep in UAAP softball

ADAMSON University came up with an abbreviated 11-1 win over La Salle on Saturday to complete a first round sweep in the UAAP Season 77 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The five-peat seeking Lady Falcons needed only five innings to improve to 6-0 this season and extend their winning run to 54 which dating back to 2011.

Despite the loss, the Lady Archers finished second in the first round with a 4-2 record.

University of the Philippines defeated National University, 10-3, in six innings, while University of Santo Tomas topped University of the East, 7-3.         

The Lady Maroons and the Tigressss forced a three-way tie for third place along with the skidding Lady Warriors at 3-3.    

The Lady Bulldogs, runners-up the past two seasons, dropped to sixth spot with a 2-4 slate, while the Lady Eagles remained winless in six starts.
