Blu Girls blank Turkey, South Africa to stretch streak to three in Jr Women's Softball Worlds

THE Philippine Junior Blu Girls came away with back-to-back shutout victories over Turkey and South Africa on Wednesday to bolster their title bid in the XII Junior Women's Softball World Championship in Clearwater, California. 

The Filipinas defeated Turkey by 10 runs before scoring three runs in the win over the South Africans for their third straight win and a 4-1 win-loss card.

The Philippine squad is behind the US and Chinese Taipei, both unbeaten in four games.

Kaith Jalandoni tossed a no-hitter, striking out seven and issuing one walk to lift Philippines past winless Turkey in four innings.

The Filipinas broke the game open with an eight-run spree in the first frame. 

A few hours later, it was the turn of Sierra Lange to lead the Junior Blu Girls past the South Africans. 

Fil-Am Lange hurled a one-hitter over seven innings, fanning 13 and walking one. 

Czara Galapon grounded out to drive in Reese Gueverra for the first run of in the first inning.

Lyca Blanco and Omul pounced on back-to-back errors to make it 3-0 in the seventh.
