Team Manila earned a return trip to the Big League Softball World Series on Tuesday after drubbing Indonesia, 16-0, in the Asia Pacific Regionals in Jakarta.
The 3-0 sweep of the best-of-five championship series enabled the Filipina clouters to earn the right to represent Asia Pacific in the World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The team backstopped by players from Adamson University will face squads from the United States, Latin America, Europe and Africa in the Big League Softball World Series set August 1 to 8.
Manila set the tone for the championship series with a 23-0 win over the Indonesians in Game One. The team which was formed by the Manila Little League Charter moved a win away from a title with a 27-0 decision.
