MANILA kicked off its title defense in the Big League Softball World Series with a 15-0 thrashing of Canada on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) in Sussex County, Delaware.
The Asia Pacific representatives, who drew a bye in the opener, are eyeing their second straight title in the 16 to 18 year old division.
Manila takes on United States East on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Laguna was blanked by Latin America, 0-14, in its debut in the Senior League Softball World Series at the same venue.
The Laguna softbelles will also face United States East next.
