CLARIZ Palma belted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead Adamson to an 11-3 victory over National University on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial ballpark, putting the Lady Falcons on the brink of the UAAP softball championship.
Palma’s heroics extended Adamson’s unbeaten run to 47 games and one more win will give the Lady Falcons their 13th UAAP crown.
By virtue of their 12-0 slate at the end of the eliminations, the Lady Falcons must be beaten thrice by the Lady Bulldogs in order to prevent another Adamson coronation.
The Lady Falcons, surprisingly, had a difficult time putting away the Lady Bulldogs and were in a 3-3 tie at the bottom of the sixth before Palma’s grand slam.
Adamson looks to finish the series on Friday at the Rizal ballpark. The game starts at 9 a.m.
