ATENEO stunned second-running University of Santo Tomas, 5-3, on Wednesday in the UAAP Season 76 softball tournament at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The win was only the Lady Eagles’ second in nine matches and the Tigresses stayed in second place despite the loss with a 6-2 win-loss card.
National University defeated La Salle, 7-6, while University of the East beat University of the Philippines, 8-7.
NU is in third at 5-3, while UE sits in fourth with a 4-5 card. UP has a 3-6 slate, while Ateneo and La Salle share the bottom of the standings with 2-7.
League leading Adamson (8-0), still unbeaten in 42 straight matches, had a day off on Wednesday.
