THE Philippine Blu Boys moved to second place after sweeping their doubleheader on Friday in the Asian Softball Championships in Japan.
The Blu Boys dominated Singapore, 6-1, before beating Hong Kong, 5-3, to seal the second spot with a 3-1 win-loss card in the tournament that also serves as an Asian qualifier for the World Softball Championships in New Zealand next year.
The Blu Boys were set to wrap up their elimination round campaign against India on Saturday before facing Japan in the page-system playoffs later in the day.
Japan won the elimination-round match with the Philippines 8-0.
