UAAP co-Athlete of the Year Angelie Ursabia is set to join the Adamson Lady Falcons softball team coaching staff right out of college.

Ursabia was named Athlete of the Year in Season 79 for team sports, while Ateneo swimmer Alberto Batungbakal won the award for individual sports.

Ursabia also won the Best Slugger, Most Home Runs, and the season MVP awards in softball.

“Si Coach Ana kukunin niya ako as coaching staff ng Adamson University softball, kaya ituturo ko yung natutunan ko kung paano lumaban na pagiging player,” said Ursabia to Spin.ph after receiving her award at the UAAP closing ceremony.

“Sobrang saya kasi lahat ng pinaghirapan ko eto na yun. Eto parang lahat ng hirap na dinanas ko sa limang taon ko may bayad na,” Ursubia said.

“Message ko lang sa mga player huwag po kayong sumuko sa lahat ng paghihirap ng buhay nandyan lang yan kailangan lang maging masipag,” she added.

In the juniors division, swimmer Nicole Pamintuan of De La Salle Zobel took home the individual Athlete of the Year award, while Lawrence Cruz of the National University boys volleyball squad was awarded the team Athlete of the Year title.
