ANALIE Benjamen gave up only two hits, striking out 12 batters in a complete game on Tuesday to lift the Lady Falcons to a 6-0 win over University of the Philippines at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium at the start of the UAAP softball finals.
Registering victories via mercy rule all season long, the Lady Falcons needed seven innings of play for the first time.
Adamsonis one win away from a fifth straight title, stretching its streak to 61 straight time dating back to the start of the 2011.
The Lady Falcons try to close out the series on Thursday, 9 a.m. at the Rizal Memorial diamond.
Edna Severino came up with an infield bunt in the third inning before Queeny Sabobo slammed a run-scoring double before scoring on a fielder’s choice.
“Medyo na-hold ’yung hitting namin sa first two innings pero after nung bunt namin, naka-adjust na kami sa hitting,” said Adamson coach Ana Santiago.
