UAAP CHAMPION Adamson and University of the East handily beat their foes on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in the Cebuana Lhuillier National Intercollegiate women’s softball championship at the Rosario Sports Complex in Pasig.
Rizza Bernardino scattered four hits and pitched a complete game shutout as the Lady Falcons defeated University of the Philippines, 5-0.
The Lady Warriors, meanwhile, overcame a two-run deficit with a three-run fifth inning to defeat Ateneo, 6-2.
The Lady Falcons and Lady Warriors are both undefeated after two outings.
Adamson, mentored by Ana Santiago, earlier scored a 29-0 trouncing of Baguio’s St. Louis University (SLU).
Marlyn Francisco blasted a two-run home run for UE in the fifth inning to complete the comeback after an early 0-2 lead by the Lady Eagles after five innings.
In other results, La Salle’s Jen Kriztel Gomez had two home runs as the Lady Archers beat SLU, 16-6.
It was the first win for the Lady Archers after they were blanked by Rizal Technological University on Monday, 0-7.
