RIZZA Bernardino hit a grand slam and Adamson routed Ateneo, 10-0, in just four innings on Saturday to sweep the first round of the UAAP softball competitions at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The win extended the Lady Falcons’ winning streak to 40 while keeping their top spot in the team standings with a 6-0 win-loss slate.
Bernardino blasted the grand slam in the bottom of the first inning that saw the Lady Falcons score nine runs.
Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas beat University of the Philippines, 9-3, to take solo second place with a 5-1 win-loss record.
National University downed University of the East, 8-7, for third spot with a 4-2 slate.
Team standings: Adamson 6-0, UST 5-1, NU 4-2, UE 2-4, UP 2-4, DLSU 1-5, Ateneo 1-5.
