    Adamson win streak now at 50 as Lady Falcons score second victory of season in softball

    FOUR-time defending champion Adamson University stretched its softball winning streak to 50 games UAAP Season 77 softball action on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

    With Queenie Sabobo setting the tone by drilling a homerun early, the Lady Falcons needed only four innings to dispose of University of the Philippines, 8-1, for their second straight victory on Saturday.

    Adamson trails University of the East, which pulled off a 3-2 upset over National University to grab first place with a 3-0 card.

    The Lady Warriors leaned on Josephine Francisco, Charlene Quintos and reigning home run queen Roxzell Niloban in the first three innings to frustrate the Lady Bulldogs.

    In the other softball match, La Salle took solo third with a 2-1 mark following its 3-1 conquest of Ateneo.

    In baseball, titleholder Ateneo stayed perfect in three games as the Blue Eagles battered University of Santo Tomas, 12-2, in eight innings.

    Dio Remollo, Adrianne Bernardo and Matt Laurel went into attack mode as Ateneo scored six runs in the sixth inning to remain on top of the standings.

    The Growling Tigers suffered their first loss after winning their first two matches.

    La Salle nipped Adamson, 7-6, and NU defeated UP, 12-9.

    La Salle and NU tied UST in second place at 2-1, while UP and Adamson remained winless in three starts.
