ADAMSON whipped Rizal Technological University, 11-3, and retained the Cebuana Lhuillier National Intercollegiate Women’s Softball Championship title on Sunday at the Rosario Sports Complex in Pasig.
Queeny Sabobo’s lead-off home run began the lopsided affair as Julie Muyco, Analie Benjamen, and Rizza Bernardino combined for eight RBIs to steer the Lady Falcons to the win.
After Sabobo’s four-bagger, Benjamen slammed an RBI double for a 2-0 lead before Bernardino and Luzviminda Embudo made it 4-0 on run-scoring hits.
The Lady Falcons never looked back from there, with Muyco scattering only four hits in his starting job on the mound.
“Magandang tune-up ito para sa coming UAAP where we are also defending our crown,” said Adamson coach Ana Santiago, who also led Team Manila to the Big League World Series Softball crown.
The Lady Falcons advanced to the finals after defeating University of Santo Tomas in the Final Four. RTU, meanwhile, beat Polytechnic University of the Philippines in the other semifinal pairing.
The Tigresses salvaged third place with an 8-4 win over PUP.
