ADAMSON University maintained its spotless card by topping University of Sto. Tomas, 7-1, to stretch its winning streak to seven in the second round of the UAAP softball tournament at the Rizal ballpark.

Lyca Basa struck out four batters and allowing only four hits for UST while Jenete Russia had two hits in three at-bats.

Despite the win, Adamson coach Ana Santiago expressed her disappointment in the Lady Falcons’ hitting in the last three innings of the match.

“Okay ‘yung defense namin but our hitting, kung iko-compare ko sa first round, medyo bumaba ng kaunti. We will make some adjustments again although hindi naman dikit ang game. Lucky for us, nage-error din ang kalaban,” said Santiago.

Santiago said she has to remind the girls not to be overconfident as the teams have adjusted to them in the second round.

“Baka masyadong nagiging kampante itong mga ito. I think ‘yan ang isa sa mga idi-discuss ko sa kanila na hindi pa tapos ang tournament at lumalakas ang lahat ng kalaban namin. Baka nga nagiging kampante at in-easy easy yon,” said Santiago.
