ADAMSON completed a phenomenal 12-game sweep of the UAAP Season 75 softball tournament double round eliminations after beating University of the East, 7-0, advancing to the Finals outright Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.
The victory stretched the Lady Falcons’ winning streak to 32 games, dating back to the 2010-11 season.
In other matches, National University scored a 4-0 win over La Salle to finish in second place behind Adamson, while University of the Philippines beat University of Santo Tomas, 4-1.
The Lady Maroons wound up in third spot at 7-5, a full game behind the Lady Bulldogs (8-4) while the Tigresses finished No. 4 with a 6-6 card.
In the stepladder semis starting Wednesday, UP takes on UST, with the winner facing NU in the second stepladder on Feb. 16 to determine the second finalist.
The championship round starts on Feb. 22.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs and the Growling Tigers, tied for second place at 7-3, dispute the second championship berth in a do-or-die baseball playoff Sunday.
The winner of the NU-UST duel at 9 a.m. will face Ateneo (8-2) in the best-of-three Finals starting Feb. 17.
